Hmm, that would require a bit of hacking in system/lib-syndication.php and admin/syndication.php.
I'd say the proper way would be to write a plugin that only implements the syndication API functions. Blaine's File Management plugin (version 1.3) implements them, so you could borrow some code from there.
bye, Dirk

Has anything changed in those two syndication php files, from 1.3.9sr1 to 1.3.10rc2?
I don't really need a separate dropdown box for the authors - don't need any complex sorts. Just want to add authors to the existing dropdown box (which currently has topics). I might be able to hack that myself.

admin/syndication.php is identical in 1.3.9 and 1.3.10, system/lib-syndication only has a few changes to support "rewritten" URLs.
I'd still suggest writing a plugin, as it will make upgrading easier with future versions ...

Is this an addition you would consider adding in future releases?

Well I looked through those syndication files, and I'm scratching my head what's going on and what I can do to add the authors myself. I haven't created my own plugin before and not sure how difficult of a task that would be.
This feature isn't a priority on my list, but is still useful functionality that will help both my site and the article contributors. So maybe in the near future I will be willing to pay someone to make this change... anybody here contract out custom plugins?

I haven't been able to find version 1.3 of the File Management plugin. I can only find 1.2. Do you have a link for that?
Thanks,
Rick
