Cannnot connect to DB server


thats the error. my Database settings in my config.php file are correct. Im guessing it has something to do with

Warning: You have register_globals = Off in your php.ini. However, Geeklog requires register_globals to be on. Before you continue, please set it to on and restart your web server


Is there a way to do it with toe globals off? Is my host company going to be willing to turn this on for me? I have never delt with a hosting company so dont really know.
