URL Rewrite

URL Rewrite doesn't seem to work with my webserver (Xitami).
This is what I get
http://www.domain.com/portal.php/link/20041203094749396

Is this correct.
I would like to take a look at it and try and get it to work, where is that function and do you have any suggestions?

Actually it rewrites the url but then doesn't seem to go to the link.

Oops! I am also having the same problem after upgrading to 1.3.10. All my links to the static pages are broken because the url rewrite is not working. The feature is turned on in the config.php.

Any solutions!
