Error on Page 2 of installation

Hello all,
I was just installing Geeklog 1.3.10 on a Windows 2003 Server, and when I got to page 2 of installation, the following is what I get.
Warning: mysql_connect(): Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client in C
rogram FilesApache GroupApache2Fermasystemdatabasesmysql.class.php on line 112
Cannnot connect to DB server
I checked in the installation common problems and the closest to my error is:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'username@localhost' (Using password: YES) in
/path/to/geeklog/system/databases/mysql.class.php on line 104
Cannnot connect to DB server
But this error is not the same as what I have.
Can someone please help?
