No Good Themes
Dude!
Anonymous
Has anyone ever seen a theme (besides purplerose, which I can't use until the promised new version comes out) that used "non-offensive" colors and simpler layout?
I'm talking something that looks similiar to Clean, but is in beige, off-white, maybe some purple or pink? Has anyone EVER seen anything like that? All the themes I can find are real techie.
Help?

that is a fairly bold and in my opinion an offensive statement to make--that there are "no good themes"--i suppose though that you meant to say it is just your preference, right?
anyway, it is a fairly simple task to take a simple layout and make it simpler--losing a line here and there for example.
and to change the colors whether they are defined in the template files or the CSS file is also an easy task.

It's so easy to change the colors of a theme, just edit the stylesheet and the background images (it's easy to change the colors of images with hue/saturation with normal (even free) image editing software.
Example: http://www.detegelschuur.nl is the IvyLeague theme with slightly differrent colors etc..
With some HTML knowledge it's very easy to make a complete different theme! Look at my site, which is converted from the professional theme.
Other example, still in development: http://www.kampeerzaken.nl/index.php, which is inspired by the ClearBlue theme.
Dutch Geeklog sites about camping/hiking:
www.kampeerzaken.nl | www.campersite.nl | www.caravans.nl | www.caravans.net

D.I.Y., Dude.
Hell, I managed to contort apv_aeon to my needs, and I'm no HTML or PHP expert. If you're smart enough to install and run Geeklog, you should be smart enough to figure out how to theme it.

i try to make themes that are low on the visually offensive scale. unfortunately most of them now need to be updated to work with the latest version of GL... however,
i am working on a new theme right now, that is compatible, and you can see it live here: http://www.axonz.com

Dell 17"CRT - 1152 x 864 px. Tried your theme also with 1024 x 786 px, but the fonts of the menu and datestamp are still too small.
The contrast between fonts and background of the left/right blocks is also not enough.
The dotted borders look dashed on IE...or are they supposed to be dashed...?
