Display the number of stories in home

Sorry for my bud english :-(

I want to insert in the home page the number total of stories. I have
tried on the forum but I have not found information.
Suggestion?

that depends on where on your home page you would like it to display...

a simple SQL statement will get your number, then it's just a matter of outputting that number in a block or a staticpage centerblock or right into the functions returning the templates, etc.

the easiest way: you can place a bit of PHP into the header.thtml file that will output a number and have it displayed in the header portion of your homepage.
