I have read the Theme FAQ. Followed directions to copy professional into a folder then
copy Blue Evolution folder. Made changes.

So far, most options/features appears to be working, however, when I select:

1) email story creates url: http://example.com/article.php/20041216210943375
2) print story creates url: http://example.com/article.php/20041216210943375/print
3) article "read more" creates url: http://example.com/article.php/20041216111925490
4) a link in web resources creates url:
http://example.com/portal.php/link/2004121611341696

And, in each instance, the following message error is returned:

"Object Not Found!' The requested URL was not found on this server. The link
on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author
of that page about the error.

How do I correct this?

Sounds like URL rewrite isn't working on your server. Turn it off in config.php and see if that solves anything. If it does then contact your host and see if you can get them to fix it.

Thanks, that worked. I will request the url rewrite. If they refuse, what future problems should I anticipate?

If you mention "url rewrite", they will probably think in terms of Apache's mod_rewrite module.

Geeklog does the rewriting on its own. What seems to be happening here is that the server is configured such that it checks if the URL exists before Geeklog gets a chance to even see the request. That's what they have to change.

The idea with Geeklog's rewriting is that you can simply attach things to the URL and Geeklog chopps them off again and tries to make sense of it.

So, for example, article.php/2004121712345 would call up article.php and Geeklog sees that there's a story ID attached and uses it. In your case, the server actually seems to try and access a file "2004121712345" within the directory(!) "article.php" - both of which don't exist, hence the error message ...

I'd be interested in what exactly they have to change in their webserver's configuration to make this work, as I had someone else with the same problem just yesterday.
