How to I change the register_globals setting?

Hello!
I tried to log onto my admin site yesterday, but had to resort to using the "regular user" log-in box in order to get to the admin control panel. Once there, saw this system message:
I'm not sure what happened from one day to the next. I've tried looking for this php.ini file in my server (cPanel) file manager section, but couldn't find it. If this helps, I upgraded Geeklog from my server on Sunday. Perhaps something happened in the process that didn't show up until Tuesday.
Suggestions, anyone??

You have register_globals = Off in your php.ini. However, Geeklog requires register_globals to be on. Before you continue, please set it to on and restart your web server.
