Make sure you actually have MySQL support in your PHP install.

I'm not familiar with Windows - you may be missing a DLL or you may have to recompile PHP with MySQL support. Try Google ...

Make sure you uncomment (remove the ; )from

extension=php_mysql.dll

in PHP.ini
