How to compare files

With the removal of themes such as Classic from 1.3.11, I need to do a check on what is in the geeklog_theme.tar.gz compared with my existing files to check what I need to copy across.
I remember seeing a posting sometime ago on Geeklog suggesting some tools running on Windows? PC that allows me to scan through the files that have changed, but I didn't think I needed it. Now I can't find that thread.
Can anyone recommend any way of doing such comparison? Especially for the themes which have multiple levels of directories.
Thank you so much in advance.

Please ignore the above request. I found the thread from Blaine who recommended Beyond Compare by Scootersoftware.com - posted Jan 26, 2004.
And he is right. It looks like a great tool to have for those who need to make comparisons.
Thanks Blaine.
