Can I import a database from another GL install?

I plan on upgrading from 1.3.9 to 1.3.11. However I need to do this on a temp site because I can't have downtime on the main site. It's going to take me a few days to make all the changes to the core code to the new install that I previously had (lots of customization) and test it.

By the time the new install is ready to move to the main site, the database will be outdated. Can I export a database and re-import?

Sure. That would be how to migrate a Geeklog site.

You have to be aware of a few URLs that are stored in the database, though. Images in articles are one case, and the links in the What's Related block are another. You could fix those in the DB dump (it's a plain text file after all) before you import it.
