Is there a way to get the forum postings to list the most recent posting first? If so, is it on a per user basis?

Is that not what it does now?

If you reply to an older post it moves to the top of the index.

Maybe I phrased it incorrectly. When you reply to a post the newest reply always shows up on the bottom I want the threading to show the oldest reply first. It works that way on the index page but when you are viewing the topic it doesn't.

Correct - when replyiny: you have a preview of the post in an iframe window. I show the most recent first because it's assumed you are replying to one of the latest posts.

You may have the setting such that 20 or more posts are showing on a page. And you would then have to scroll to the end to see the latest post should you need to refer to it when replying.

Can I make that a user-defined option to change this order - yes. But this is the first I've had it requsted and not sure how popular this need really is.
