Hi all.

I've had a few gl sites in the past, and never had this problem before. Today I decided to install gl again (For a group that my wife belongs to) and the install went off without a hitch, but I am getting the following.

By going to http://brentnjen.com/dance it seems to enter an endless redirect loop until the server forces an error, but if I go to http://brentnjen.com/dance/index.php it does not do this.

I've searched around and found some info, but nothing that seems to apply to my installation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like either your webserver is not configured to look for an index.php or that there exists some redirect (maybe in a local .htaccess file).

I sure do wish that were the case. In any other directory on my server, if an index.php file exists, it's used automatically. And, the only .htaccess file on my server contains only a few lines to change the max php upload limit. No redirects or anything of the sort.

For example, visit http://saskmetal.com or http://bsharpmusic.com. These two sites are on the same server as my geeklog installation, and both their main pages are index.php, which show properly.

I've also been talking with my web host who can't seem to find anything out of the ordinairy either.

Any other thoughts on this? At this point I'm willing to try anything!

Another note: in Internet Explorer, the error page is just the "Page cannot be displayed" one. On Mozilla it actually tells me "redirection limit reached" (Or something similar, I don't have Mozilla on this machine and am going from memory)

One more thing to note (And that now this fixed it for some reason)

In my root folder I have an .htaccess file which has the following:

Text Formatted Code
DirectoryIndex index.php

php_value post_max_size 16384000
php_value upload_max_filesize 16384000

If I remove DirectoryIndex index.php from that file, it then works.

Not sure *why* that would be. But I have got it working now, so YAY!!
