I've resolved that I'll probably never get the MyHeadlines plugin to work, so I'll delete my last request for help on that subject.
On a related subject, I do have an RSS news feed working on a portal block, however it's not really what I would like. I've reviewed the previous posting on creating a static page and having the news feed place on the static page. I've followed the instruction as outline in the following discussion and made the modification to the lib-custom.php and created the static page with the block number insertion.

However, I just get a blank page, no news stories, nothing. Can someone help?

I've found the answer...in the static page creation, "PHP" there are "execute PHP and a "execute PHP (return)", I selected the latter and the news items have displayed.
