Setting up email properly

Hi,
I have GeekLog 1.3.10 running on Apache server with PHP5 installed. I would like to setup GeekLog to utilize the existing MS Exchange server I have so I can take advantage of the email capabilities of GeekLog. The GeekLog setup instructions discuss how to setup email using an SMTP server, but not with an Exchange Server.
Could someone provide me with some insight into to setting up GeekLog and PHP5 so that it properly works with my MS Exchange server? Thanks!!

If there's any way to access your Exchange Server from PHP, you could provide your own CUSTOM_mail function (in lib-custom.php) which Geeklog would then use to send all its emails.
bye, Dirk

Is it possible to have PHP connect to an Exchange server for sending mail? I don't really know PHP, so could you provide a small example of a CUSTOM_mail function that does this.
