Can someone help me?

This is day 2 of trying to get a dowload area added to my GL I have had nothing but troubles. I've installed many php scripts, but the plugins in GL are by far the most difficult. The install directions are very vague. In filemgmt, the files upload, the number of downloads shows beside the category, but when you go to the category, nothing is there. The download IS where it's supposed to be.
Now, I thought I'd try easyfile, I have it all installed, but theres nothing on the pages, just white.
Maybe I need to find something besides GL, seems like to much work.

Ron,
It's not too much work but you may have a non-standard setup or your just missing something. Have you read the more detailed "How to install a plugin" directions here
There are many posts from users about installing the filemgmt plugin and I can't recall one in two years that was not a install or config related issue. You should review the previous posts to see if any of them are familiar.
Then again the description "having trouble" is not really a lot to go on

RoN, as someone new to GL and plugins, and somewhat new to installing packages in *nix, I sympathize!
I've spent several days now going over the docs for 2 different plugins with a fine-toothed comb, and it's been quite frustrating...but also quite enlightening, as I'm learning the lingo & discovering there exists a strange consistency on the various docs, of the individual plugins & also the generic how-to install plugs.
And I agree with Blaine...we probably need more info. Sounds like you actually get the install script to execute, then have problems after that. What does the log file say, it could reveal install problems & also execution problems.
I don't know this plugin, so I might not be able to help much, but I'm willing to share what experience I have.
