I'm am able to email stories from my geeklog website to other users but a new user doesn't get password emailed to them when signing up as a new user. I'm using win2k server and smtp is configured in php.ini and in config.php.
Anyone have an idea why email will work in one part of geeklog and not the other?

So you're running your own SMTP server? Maybe the emails are considered spam? Have you tried sending such an email to yourself (e.g. by registering as a new user on your site)?

Orignally, I was running my own smtp server, but I became so innodated by various entities around the world relaying their emails to my server that I went back to using my ISP smtp service.
I haven't check the SPAM on the site, but I will do that.

I've tried both again:
1. Registering as a new user on my site. (To see if the response is sent)
2. Emailed a story to myself.

Results: I got the email for the story but not for the new user.

I logged in as administrator on the site and verified that the new user (I created) was created by the system.

Not sure where to go from here?

If you get a chance try logging onto my site: http://www.ccaoh.com and try creating a userid and email a story to yourself.

Do you have any special characters in your site title ?

Maybe this is your problem.
