I am using the XSilver theme and the only way I can get an article to show the read more link is to have it featured. I tried searching for ways to enable this on every article, but it seems like no else has had this problem that I can see. I have put text into both the intro and body boxes. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you have a {readmore_link} variable in your storybodytext.thtml

There is in the XSilver theme file, but not in the professional directory, should I put it in there even though I am using XSilver?

Wish I had a suggestion...literally, just this morning I was in both the .thtml files that use {readmore_link}, and also in the program that sets the variable.

No reason to set it in professional if you're not using it.

You could verify which other themes you have that use the variable, and switch to them, just to see if you get the same behavior, that would indicate it's not a theme problem...

The Professional theme uses other variables - there's more than one way to get a "read more" link.

But I thought the problem was with XSilver? Confused

bye, Dirk

What version are you using?

1.3.10? there is a bug in this version when you set articles to be archived, the readmore link disappears.

Ok, I am using 1.3.11, I tried disabling story managment on an article and it worked. So I assume it was the bug you were talking about.

How can I still archive the article with that disabled? I am new to all of this, but want to learn. Thanks.
