Is it possible to pull out the calendar for the Blog and use it as a standalone for my webpage? If so what must i do?

You could probably hide the rest of Geeklog by stripping pretty much everything out of the themes. But the calender still requires a lot of the Geeklog backend like users, permissions, the template engine, etc.
