Where can I change the fact that is the text in the headingblocks is longer than 15 caracters is 'moves' to a line below?

There's no such limit in Geeklog.

It may depend on the theme - maybe it's not leaving a lot of room for the headline. Or maybe your browser's window is just not wide enough ...

Jeannette, you are using the tabular dynamics theme, which doesn't have that much room for story tiles.

If only the storytitle breaks up:

Try to change the cell widths to 85% and 15%

If you mean the authors name etc, try to add 'nowrap' in the last td tag in this piece of code from the same template:
