I have problems with my site www.ventit.com.au
I have just put my site online and I am having the following two errors reported from users.
1: email with password being recieved after signing up however the password will not work when entered by the user to login. The user has to apply for a forgotten password to gain access to the site
2: after editing a forum topic, smilies are lost and will not be displayed even though the code is in the original text
Regards
Kev

I registered a minute ago but only received the PM, and was able to log in (as beespam). I use Firefox1.02/Win2000 and used the password rememberfunction from Firefox.
Guess it's a cookie/security setting from your members.
BTW please delete my account (beespam)

I have had this complaint off several people, some of which were accessing off a terminal that someone else had already registered and logged in off. They have complained that they could not use the generated password and had to apply for a forgotten password to change it.
Is there something I need to make my users aware of when using some browsers and operating systems. Most of my users will be using Internet Explorer and Windows 98/2000/XP?
I have only ever used Microsoft browsers and operating systems and are not aware of what other types are out there and what they can do and or limitations are.

Smilies - depending upon which version of the forum plugin you are using, I guess, if you have phpbb bridge, check your profile. There is a button that says "always allow smilies" "yes" or "no".
Also, when you edit a post at the bottom of the screen near the submit button is a check box for "disable smilies" "yes" or "no".
I hate them and prefer to disable them in all my posts.
