what are the cpu-eating features of GL that can be put off optionally ?

what are the cpu-eating features of the forum
eg.
countin every user's total post numbers
that can be put off from the code ( not just removed from vision by template adjustments ) ?

eg a quick reply or quick new post can save bandwidth but that is not implemented it seems
