What's the translation from the varchar for lastupdated in the topics table? I'm trying to do some mass topic pruning, but have had little luck doping out the translation of the lastupdated format

I have to admit I don't understand a word. For starters, there is no "lastupdated" field in the topics table ...

in gl_forum_topic, there's a row called "lastupdated" and it's a varchar.

Ah. Dropping the word "forum" in on your original post would have made things a little clearer ...

I'd suggest you have a look at some of the forum's code. For example, the centerblock function in functions.inc should be a good start, as it probably has to deal with the last modified date to display the latest topic changes.
