If you call COM_siteHeader('none') instead of COM_siteHeader('menu'), you'll get the site header without the left blocks. To get rid of the right blocks, change COM_siteFooter(true) to COM_siteFooter(false) (or simply COM_siteFooter(), as it defaults to false).
Now you only have to find the relevant calls in the forum code ...

Since I have no right blocks all I had to do was change change COM_siteheader. This was found in
/forum/index.php around like 87 for those of you who may also want to do this. Check it out.
