GUS and subdomain

Anonymous
I can't seem to get the GUS stats plugin to record any information. I believe it is a direct result of the 'subdomain' setting. Can anyone point me in the direction of a way to make this work correctly? Unfortuantely I do not have a ton of control over the server so I can't go poking around too much. Any insight would be more than appreciated though.

cheers,

Followup:

After working with Michael on this problem, it turns out it has nothing to do with the subdomain stuff. For some reason, $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] is returning the server's IP.

This was gone over in this thread and this thread. The difference here is that he's running Linux, not Mac OS X Server.

I haven't figured out why this happens, but if I ever find out I'll followup here.

According to this over at entropy.ch, it looks like the problem affects mainly a release of PHP for Mac OS X Server.

I believe Michael's is a proxy issue. The next version of GUS will try to be smarter about remote IPs and proxies.
