Trying to customize the user Login Creation...
I am attempting to hack the user creation form to add a field called "secret password".
The purpose is to only allow people that know the secret password to register.
My PHP skills are pretty strong, but not my template skills.
If anyone can give me some pointers on where to look and I need to change I would be most appreciative.
I suspect I need to modify the template.class.php file but this is only from my cursory examination.

I understand that part about customizing the Login to add additional fields. But I am looking for something different.
I want to have a field where the user needs to enter a password that is required to complete registration.
So if they do not know the password they cannot register.
And I do not see exactly how to do something like this.
I am trying to find the spot in the logic where it sends out this email to the user after they register. I want to stop at that point and check their password first.
If anyone can point me towards the right functions/scripts please help.
Thanks

You can do that with the custom registration.
The only problem is that it's currently missing a way to reject the user's input if it's incomplete. Get this version of users.php from CVS and this version of lib-custom.php demonstrates how to use it. These are drop-in replacements for Geeklog 1.3.11.
bye, Dirk
