I recently moved my site to a new server. It worked fine on the old server but now I get this message when trying to install on the new server:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in (path...)/config.php on line 95

I've checked all of the common offenders. Both lines 94 and 95 (the site title and slogan) are correctly formatted with single quotations and both lines end with semicolons. There are no extra ' marks which might cause a parse error.

If I comment those two lines out using //, I get the same error, but this time on line 114. This leads me to believe the problem isn't in my formatting in config.php at all.

I've also checked and rechecked to make sure that lib-common.php isn't corrupted. I unpacked (with WinRAR) and modified (using notepad) a fresh version from the tarball and I still get the same error.

Any ideas?

The actual problem may be somewhere above line 94. Check all the other lines you changed for the same sort of problems (missing quotes, etc.).

bye, Dirk
