Now I want to be able to use different layout styles than storytext.thtml for different blocks. I don't want them all to look the same and I want to specify xxxxx.thtml (which could have a white background) for one block and another with different colour for something else.

How can I tell the different blocks which thtml file to use? If possible?!?

Are you talking about the side blocks or the actual stories?

Not necessarily side blocks. And I don't want to change the look or feel of the whole site. I want each topic to have its own little block in a static page, so I've got three storiesbytopic blocks pulling in different categories but I want them all to look different - so one block will be blue (for example), another red and the third yellow. And maybe the red one will have different font size for the title etc.

Surely you can specify 'put this block here and use this template for it' and 'put this block over there and use this other template for it'?
