Is it possible to disable registration?

I need to privatize my GL installation, hopefully by completely removing the registration feature. Is there a clean way to do this? Failing that, a sloppy one?
Thanks...
Thanks...

the ability to disable new user registration via the config file has been implemented in CVS and will be available with the next GL release.

All I did to disable registration was comment out "function newuserform" in users.php and made the appropiate changes in the language file to not display the "New User" link.
This seems to work fine so far. Is there any reason it shouldn't be done this way?

no. there really isn't much reason to do it different except that many have asked for the option. Also, as I'm sure your know, if you know the software you can still send registrations even with the userform gone and the language file altered.
