Logging after new user sign-up

Hello everyone,
I have created a customised sign-up page where the user can choose his password right of the bat and now I want the user to straight away be logged in once the sign-up is successfull and I <b>dont</b> want the user to receive the email with his password and emai. I am trying to figure this out with no success. l
