Hello,

I was directed here to start my new website. I tried downloading the new version, but my computer wsont recognize the .tar extension.
I also have no idea what PHP and SQL is. I am new to the real website world, I have fallen victim to Yahoo's Geocities and SiteBuilder, so all I know is WYSIWYG. I hear that html coding isnt difficult, but I wonder.

For my website creation and maintenance, is it possible to have a web interfaced program that I can access and edit my website from 2 different computers?

I would really appreciate the help. This is for a non-profit organization for animal rights. I want to be able to have current members sign in and view member only pages. But i have no idea how to do it, and i can not pay someone else to. Is there anyone out here that can help me?

you'll need to download a program called winrar to access the .rar file.

as to your php and mysql questions: Those are requirements that your host must provide.

Have you found a place to host your site yet?

Whew, jumping in with PHP and mySQL without knowing HTML would be quite a feat.

HTML is not all the difficult to learn, there are some great turtorials on the web. So I would start there. Just do a search of HTML Turtorial and you'll find one. Also I started with a book HTML for Dummies. I now have PHP/MySQL for dummies, Core PHP Programming, the Java Bible and some other Java book. I find the dummies books a good place to start then graduate to the more technical ones. There are also some good resource forums like www.devshed.com (forum.devshed.com). I use this site a lot. And it gives you a lot about a lot.
