i thought i covered all the bases, but... i guess not.

if someone could point out the error of my way, i'd greatly appreciate it.

notice the bolded "directory":

config.php is definitely not a directory. I would suggest that you edited your system path when you didn't need to or, more likely, your $_CONF['path'] ends with "config.php" when it shouldn't.
