Registration Email doesn't send with special characters

The name of my site contains an umlaut (specifically, Ë), but when I have any special chacter in my site name, all emailing abilities are destoyed.

Is there any fix for this? I could spell it without the umlaut, of course, but it's just not the same.

Assuming this means that no emails are sent: Which version of Geeklog is that?

If you're on 1.3.11, you could try replacing the function COM_formatEmailAddress in lib-common.php with the one from CVS.

I am using 1.3.11, but when I tried that update from CVS, I got this error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/virtual/site87/fst/var/www/html/flernk.com/lib-common.php on line 4266

What's odd, though, is that the lines of code I needed to edit were on line 3411, not 2896.

So did you check that line? Sounds like a case of a corrupted lib-common.php
