Two questions. How do you get...
#1 - New stories and new comments in the same block?
#2 - A chart (updated daily) of how many registered users your site has?

Here's an example of what I'm looking to do:

#1 you can see right on the homepage
To find #2, click on "Site Stats" and then under the "Site Statistics" heading, click on where it says "Click for chart" next to "Members."

Isn't that thing on the left of wptfan just the "what's new" block that geeklog has already? There might be a difference, but I can't see it...

Not sure there is an automated function for that, but it wouldn't take you too much to do it by hand (=in excel or so). I think they made that graph using the data base table that contains user id and registration date. Since user id# increases 1 for every new user, the user id# given to someone one day is a count of how many users you have on that day.
