Hello all... new to GeekLog and have a few questions regarding the script. Maybe you can help me out...
Question 1: Is there any way to put another contribute menu link on the User Functions Menu?
Question 2: Is there a way to show offline users or all users on a static page with pic?
Question 3: Is there any way to add a place where users can have there own personal diary or journal?
Question 4: Is there a script or code to adjust the users picture so they don't get an error if their mage is too large. I have changed the settings in the config file but just don't want any error.
Well... this is good to start, I am sure there will be more
Thanks in advance,
Bear

Plugins can add links to the user's menu. A very minimal plugin would do the job, but I don't think such a thing exists yet.

If someone wrote the necessary PHP code ... My old simple user list may be a start.

Sounds like you're looking for the Journal plugin.

Geeklog can resize images on the fly if you have NetPBM, ImageMagick or the gdlib. Check the documentation.

Quote by bear: Can you recommend a good PHP book for a newbie to start out with?
If you have any programming experience with any other language, then the PHP manual should be all you need.

I have been lookin at this thing for the past 2 hours and I just don't get it...
I also want to know if I install imagemagick to the root directory of my site?
Also, where are the instructions to install the journal :-( I am dying here... help a newbie out...
Thanks for the php manual link though... should be helpful in the future.

You'd need to implement the plugin_getuseroption_yourpluginname function. Though not quite up to date, the Plugin Developers Guide contains all the necessary information.

Not sure about ImageMagick. NetPBM may be easier to install - just put all its binaries in a directory.

Sorry, forgot that it comes without installation instructions. But it really just installs like any other plugin: Move the files to their proper places, click the "install" link from the Admin's "Plugins" panel.
bye, Dirk
