Blog Plugin 1.1 Beta

Pillguy

Anonymous
I installed the BLog plugin with no problems. However, when I go to my RPC URL by typing http://pharmit.us/blog (as the plugin panel tells me to do), I get this error.

faultCode 103 faultString XML error: no element found at line 1

I am using GL 1.3.11sr1

Any suggestions?

What do you expect to find there? This is the URL that your Blogger client will be sending the postings to. It's expecting an XML formatted posting. There's nothing at that URL a human could or should do.

In other words: The plugin is working as intended ...

Dirk,
Sorry. I thought it pulled up an editor type web page before...must have been another CMS.

Anyway,

I am using MarsEdit, choosing the BloggerAPI to talk to geeklog. http://ranchero.com/marsedit/

I get try to download my posts, and I get a login error. It asks for my RPC URL, and blog ID.

I know my RPC URL is http://pharmit.us/blog, and I assume my blog ID is my username that I login to geeklog with .

Any ideas?

Thanks, sorry for the terrible first post.

The blog id most likely refers to the actual blog you would like to use. The plugin offers every topic as a separate "blog", so try one of your topic ids.

Most clients I know can also produce a list of available blogs, which should make things much clearer.

OK. I found out from MarsEdit developer that they are looking for a numeric Topic ID, not letters. For instance, one of my topic ID's is General. Is there a numeric reference?

Thanks

I don't see anything in the Blogger API specification that asks for a numeric blog ID. Although all the examples use numeric IDs, the "blogid" field is referred to as a string.

In other words: I think the MarsEdit developers should update their client.

Other Blogger clients don't have a problem with non-numeric IDs either.

Ecto worked fine for me last time I tried. What sort of problems do you have?

Something like this...unless he is doing something wrong initially as well.

Sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to tell me.

Point ecto to your site's /blog/ directory, fill in your username and password and it should list the available "blogs" (i.e. topics, static pages, etc.).

If you're getting any error messages, please post them here.

bye, Dirk
