Permissions errors on check.php

Hi,

I ran check.php and I am having similar issues to the ones described on
this thread.

I changed all of the permissions to 777 (by FTP) and check.php returned 2 of five directories as okay. (logs directory and the error.log and access.log files, and the backend directory and the geeklog.rdf file).

But three of the directories still do not check out. For example,

Testing userphotos directory /home/jphotos/junglephotos.com/public_html/images/userphotos/ ...
Could not write to /home/jphotos/junglephotos.com/public_html/images/userphotos/.
Please make sure this directory exists and is set to chmod 775.
Current permissions for userphotos: 777

So I am not sure what is going on. How will this affect site functionality? Should I contact my webhost to change some settings?

Thanks for any help! Confused

Check the permissions of the "images" directory. Try 775 or 777 there.

Everything except DB Backups. I get the error

ERROR: Directory /home/jphotos/geeklog/backups/ is not accessible.

Can someone help me out please?

I fixed the DB Backups problem by setting permissions on backups to 777 (from 775) but when I hit the "Do Backup" button, I get another error...

There was an error.
Incorrect path or mysqldump utility not executable.
Check $_DB_mysqldump_path definition in config.php.
Variable currently defined as: /usr/bin/mysqldump

How do I figure out the $_DB_mysqldump_path definition? Should I then change config.php? Question

Ask your hosting service for the correct path.
