I just upgraded one of my servers to CentOS 4.1 X86_64 and I am testing out Geeklog on the news server to ensure compatibility. My previous servers ran Redhat 7.3 without any problems.
Installing the latest Geeklog,I tried "http://yourgeeklogsite/admin/install/check.php" and it returned with a "An SQL error has occured. Please see error.log for details." Looking at error.log, ithighlighted two faults:
1. PHP Warning: fopen(/path/to/geeklog/logs/error.log): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /path/to/geeklog/www/lib-common.php on line 1533
I changed chmod -R 775 logs/ to 777 and this problem was fixed.
2. [Mon Sep 12 09:49:09 2005] [error] File does not exist: /path/to/geeklog/favicon.ico
I couldn't find anything wrong with config.php - [site_url] as suggested by Dirk in his Monday, May 16 2005 note regarding "Favicon Oddness".
I went ahead to run http://yourgeeklogsite/admin/install/install.php and I did not encounter any problems.
Can anyone who has encountered similar problems please share your experiences with me ie. fixes etc. I am raising this up since I don't see to many CentOS 4.1 x86-64 users and would like to share experieces with anyone who might be interested.
Thank you so much.
Why am I raising this matter? Becuase of new varibles

A favicon is that little icon that many browsers display in front of the URL in the address bar. It has nothing at all to do with Geeklog.
If you like to have one, just add one. Otherwise simply ignore the errors.
See favicon.com for more information.
bye, Dirk
