Cannot backup GeekLog

I cannot backup the DB for my GeekLog it shows this error msg.
There was an error.
Incorrect path or mysqldump utility not executable.
Check $_DB_mysqldump_path definition in config.php.
Variable currently defined as: /usr/bin/mysqldump
Can anyone help me fix this important feature of GL? tnx
