Geeklog Forums

OK. Here's one that's stumping me to no end. I installed the GL_Forum today and everything went fine. I set up the categories, I set up the actual forums. No problems.

Whenever I do one of two actions, I get the screen that says that the settings have taken effect and to click "here" or wait for it to refresh. Doing either option brings me to http://www.mathforum.org

Here's what I know causes it:
1. Saving forum user preferences
2. Posting a new topic

The "here" on that page seems to be pointing to http://forum/gf_userprefs.php which I'm positive is the problem (I'm also pretty sure it's refreshing to that same page), but I'm having a rough time finding what's going on here. Any ideas?

Do you have latest veriosn of forum?
have you ever seen or heard of mathforum.org prior to installing forum?

I would suggest recopying the forum files. It won't delete your data.

I've tried it a few times, but it hasn't helped.

It seems to very very quickly flash "google" just after displaying the link above and then goes to that site. It happens in both IE and Firefox and I had a friend try on his computer and it happened there too.

I'll recopy the files one more time and see what happens.

OK. I've grabbed a fresh download and copied the files over. Everything works fine except for the problem stated above.



EDIT: AHA! I'm onto something, but I don't know what. If I just type "Forum" into my browser, it brings me to mathforum.org. I'm guessing something needs to be ../forum or something like that. I'll keep investigating.

DOUBLE EDIT: Got it working! It was a stupid error that never should have happened. I saw that the gf_userprefs.php went back to $LANG_GF07['2'] => $_CONF['site_url']... so I went back to my GL config.php and found that I put a trailing slash when I shouldn't have. Sorry for all the trouble.
