Running Different Instances Of Geeklog - Geeklog and Wiki Bridge

Anything is possible!!!!

With that said, I want to run 2 (or more) instances of Geeklog on my site.

Why?
Cause the 2 areas are pretty separate but I want the people signed in on one part of the site to be able to also interact on another part.

Anybody here do something like that? How is it running? Is there any problems with joining the user tables of both instances of Geeklog? Users signed into one site are also signed in on the other site?

Anybody got any tips on this before I start getting to dirty into the SQL and site code?

Also:
Geeklog and Wiki bridge:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki

Not sure if this is really needed because it might be as simple as joining the user tables... while my wiki will be open to the public for editing, I still want people to be able to sign in with the same account they have on Geeklog (by the way, I think Geeklog and MediaWiki is like the perfect combonation). Anybody hear familiar with making plug-ins think this is possible?

PS
Its it possible to bridge vBulletin with Geeklog user accounts?

PPS
If I had all of this on one database, would that be a problem? I probably should have it on different databases, right?

COOL!!!

This is it! Although I don't have the geeklog sites on totally different URL (all the sites will be on the same site) I can see how this can work with sub-urls. Now I can a site specifically for skinning and then a site for general news in entertainment and art and the user doesn't have to keep signing in becuase the user DB is the same.

hmmm I wonder if this will cause the forums to not work on both sites?

Now the only issue I have is bridging my other open source solutions to Geeklog user database and site cookies. I'm putting up a Wiki for lyrics of songs (from TV to movies to music) and I am starting to use OpenDB for social entertainment catalog (books, movies, games and so on that you own, want or wish you had). So what I want is when a user signs up for Skin This or eNews they also signed up for the WikiMedia and OpenDB.

I am still a little unsure about connecting them (especially OpenDCool, but I will definaily share the sulution for it. (Especially the WikiMedia bridge).

Thanks for the link vadertech!!!!
Its a deal - shaking hands
