I've just set up a site and new users aren't able to add images to their stories. What do I need to set so that they can post pictures with their stories?

Image upload is not supported for normal users (i.e. simply not built into Geeklog). You could allow them the use of the IMG tag, but that is not recommended for security reasons (unless you're in a controlled environment, e.g. an intranet).

Indirectly, it may work via Machinari's Inmemoriam gallery plugin, as that provides autotags that let you pull images from the gallery. Haven't tried it myself, though ...

It would be a nice feature to have. The default install could come with it turned off. When users do post images with their stories it make the stories much much better and more interesting...
