It also displays a warning message if register_long_arrays is off (PHP 5 only, bug #360).
So what would it be?
Anyway, no support for register_long_arrays is much easier to apply than no support for register_globals. You just have to sit one time and run a global search and replace utility (e.g. replace $HTTP_SERVER_VARS with $_SERVER).
And remember, super globals (like $_SERVER) were introduced in PHP v4.1...which also happens to be the official minimum requirement for Geeklog.

Guess what we did ...
The warning message about register_long_arrays in the install script says something like "While Geeklog itself will work just fine with that setting, some of the available plugins and add-ons may not." - which is what that entry in the history is all about.
bye, Dirk
