Mdigest Error "pear\Net\Socket.php on line 241"

I've just recently been experiencing this error when I attempt to send the daily digest. I get a timeout error as cited on the subject line. I'm not sure if it is a limitation on my server or a problem with a configuration.
It's been working fine for months...
