I had some problems with the Daily Quote plugin and Photofinder Plugin (that is based on the daily quote plugin) on my test system at www.rudebastard.com which is now running GL 1.4.0 beta.

I noticed that the block menu was not showing up and there some badly formatted links on the selected page.

I found that it was necessary to edit a few files.

You will need to change the following files.
/public_html/dailyquote/add2.php
/public_html/dailyquote/add.php
/public_html/dailyquote/catindex.php
/public_html/dailyquote/catman.php
/public_html/dailyquote/index.php
/public_html/dailyquote/moderate.php
/public_html/dailyquote/search.php
/public_html/admin/plugins/dailyquote/index.php

Search for and replace all instances of

Text Formatted Code

if(eregi('1.3.1',VERSION)){

and replace with

Text Formatted Code

if(eregi('1.4',VERSION)){

the dailyquote plugin was not written to function with 1.4 and has yet to be upgraded completely.
btw, the code you've changed will not appear in the next release of this plugin--it has already been rewritten to accommodate developements in the plugin API.

btw, that's a pretty nifty thing you did with the DQ plugin modifying it to accommodate images. I assume you did that...

I just wanted to post a quick fix until GL 1.4 has a stable release.

Yep, I did the mods to make it work with images. I have a bunch of work to go but it does what I need it to do right now. I have a seperate server with a few thousand images stored on it and the plugin stores the image URL in the database then creates a thumbnail on the local server.

have you considered using a plugin designed to deal with images from the start... oh, I dunno, like Inmemoriam?
It has a slight ftp issue until later today, but the rest works.

It sure looks good but I need to have the image files on a different server than where Geeklog is hosted.

Can Inmemoriam do that?
