User can't change password

I am still testing my site and it seems that a new user can't change the password.
Logging in with the mailed password is no problem. Changes user details is no problem.
But writing the password in the password box and then pressing submit. It keeps requesting for the current password...
I do use templates for a 1.38 version and I use 1.40...
Plz some help...
