I just installed Geeklog 1.4 Beta on a site, which does not automatically validate users - membership by invitation only.

On the Config page, I have new users set to 1

$_CONF['usersubmission'] = 1; // 1 = new users must be approved

When a "test" user attempted to set up an account, went through the user name and password page, after submit, screen went to plan white.

"test' user shows up in my Admin Users section - no email from system to notify of need for Admin "OK". Have I missed something? Set to 0, "test2" user went through the normal process of receiving password in email.

As the name of that option suggests, the user is put in a submission queue (just like the story submission queue) until approved. They can not log in or request a new password until then.

You shouldn't get a blank page in the process, though ...

If you don't want users to sign up on their own use $_CONF['disable_new_user_registration']

bye, Dirk

Thanks Dirk...

As always you really know your stuff. While going to the blank page bothered me, user did receive email upon Admin approval, but I opted to add the disable new user registration.

Thanks again..
