Hello, I have a working instance of geeklog with an instance of gallery embedded with the GL_Gallery2 plugin. The gallery theme I prefer (siriux) doesn't display new and updated albums/photos from the "new items" gallery2 module, so I've been trying to get galleryblock working to perform that function.
I'm beginning to believe that galleryblock wasn't written with gallery2 in mind. To get this far I had to change "init.php" to "init.inc" in the galleryblock config, but now I'm getting the following error:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: albumdb in /var/www/html/family/public_html/galleryblock/galleryblock.php on line 40
Before I go any further, It'd behoove me to ask if anyone has gotten galleryblock to work with gallery2, if there's any well-known alternatives to galleryblock, or if there's a known fix for the above. I'm not sure if my time would be better spent diving into the code, looking for a different plug-in, or looking for (or building) a gallery skin that's simple enough not to detract from the geeklog skin, but still displays the "new" and "updated" information.
Thanks in advance,
Ron

Galleryblock was written for gallery1.x, so if you look at your gallery2 admin under imageblock settings. You will find a way to call images from an external app like this:
although some hosts don't allow @read functionality.
hope this helps
FlashYourWeb and Your Gallery with the E2 XML Media Player for Gallery2 - http://www.flashyourweb.com
Text Formatted Code
<?php @readfile('http://yoursite.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=imageblock.External&g2_blocks=randomImage&g2_show=title'); ?>although some hosts don't allow @read functionality.
