Hi Guys, When I back up my server, I stop the mySQL service but leave apache running, so if you go to my site you see a message "Cannot connect to DB server" ??
Where is this string generated from ? I want to change it to say something like, sorry this site is currently undergoing routine maintanence please call back shortly, or something like that. I've tried searching for that string of text but I dont seem to be able to find it ??
Can someone give me some clues (or better direct me to the file that I can edit to change this message) I tried to search these forums but found only 2 posts on this, and there all about installation problems
Cheers in advance

Any specific reason why you do that? mysqldump will back up just fine when MySQL is running (unless you're using InnoDB tables).

Thanks for that dirk, re: why ?
I just thought that shutting down mySQL would make sure that all the tables remained static during the backup (I back up the whole of my server which takes arround 30 minutes or so) it does this automatically via a script at certain times of the week, I stop the mysql service, backup then restart the service..
Thanks for the pointers...
