I'm curious about the difference between nightly CVS builds of Gl and those in downloads section. CVS build is slightly smaller, so it doesn't contain all the files? The question is "what files do I overwrite when using nightly build over the release (for example over geeklog-1.4.0rc1)?"

The nightly tarball doesn't contain the PEAR packages - those are available separately.

If you're interested in the changes that are happening, then you should subscribe to the geeklog-cvs mailing list or check the list's archives.
